Short Film Sunday: Diplife

Who knew Wesley “Diplo” Pentz’s life could be so insightful? I expected Groupies, Titties and the persona of a larger than life DJ. But nah–he’s way deeper than that. If you’re not a huge Diplo fan, I don’t see how I could possibly persuade you to spend the next 10 minutes of your life watching a short, informal documentary on him. However, I will say that he talks about life in a way that’s easy to relate to. He talks about his major in Anthropology and Film (an interest he’s recently exercised through his production and release of Favela on Blast, a documentary on Baile Funk in Rio, Brazil) and how that segued into his present music career; the random people who think he remembers them, but he really doesn’t; and for an added bonus, Jamaica.

lol. bonuses like that always get my attention.
I always like listening to people just talk about life like that and I even though I hear his work I always wondered “Who is Diplo?”, so that was a 2-for-1 for me. :)

      Haha, Good stuff.

I really wasn’t expecting the documentary to be anything like this–especially since it’s informal, but like you, I like when people talk about life in this sort of way–plus he’s full of wit. Loved it.
